This weekend, the children and adults got to see a very inspiring movie called:  Queen of Katwe.    If you haven’t seen this movie, you must watch it!  It’s a great movie you can watch with the whole family.  It has quickly become one of my favorite movies I’ve ever seen.  The inspiring movie is a true story that took place in Uganda about 10 years ago.  It’s about a girl who had a loving single mother, who despite her efforts, could not make ends meet for her children.

The village of Twashuka is the village we have written about, where they have seen complete transformation through the gospel.  We chose this movie to show because it gives a very clear picture of what life is like for so many people in Africa.  The villagers where able to relate so much to the life in the movie.  It’s also a story of what can happen when one person cares enough to get involved.  As we watched it with Aaron and Charles in Zambia, they were crying tears of joy and hope by the end, as it perfectly illustrates what they desire to see happen in their communities.

I are praying that the villagers will be able to see the bigger picture of what education and sacrifice can do for the children there.

Ok.  Just watch the trailer!! 👇😂

This is the movie they showed in Twashuka this past weekend.  Their desire was to inspire the village and to show them that life doesn’t need to be the way it’s always been.  Through Christ, there is hope. Change is possible, even in the most hopeless situations.

Since a picture is worth 1,000 words, here’s a few photos of them setting up.  Aaron didn’t give me many details, but he did say: “The response to the movie this weekend was overwhelming. The people were very inspired and really appreciated the movie.”
